Schoology is an emerging discipline that has been growing in popularity in recent years. It is a field of study that combines the fields of mathematics, science, and education. Schoology focuses on providing students with opportunities to explore different branches of knowledge while also improving their critical thinking skills.
Schoology was founded in 2015 by Dr. Stephanie Seneff and Dr. David Evans. The two professors teamed up to create the program after noticing a lack of math and science courses available to students at their respective schools. Schoology offers students the opportunity to take online classes from top professors across the country.
The benefits of enrolling in Schoology courses are evident when comparing student outcomes to traditional courses offered in high school. Surveys conducted by Schoology have found that students who participated in their courses scored higher on college admissions exams than those who did not participate in the program. Additionally, surveys have shown that students who take schoology courses are more likely to pursue careers in fields related to math and science.
With so much evidence supporting the benefits of Schoology, it is no surprise that FBISD has decided to add schoology as a ninth course option for its students. In January 2019, FBISD announced that it would be offeringschooL as an elective course for high schoolers starting in the 2020-2021 school year.
