How To Troubleshoot QuickBooks Unrecoverable Error?

7 Steps to Fix QuickBooks Unrecoverable Error

Step 1: Examine the users who have been damaged

First, find out how many users have been affected by Quickbooks unrecoverable error code. Please create a new regular account if you have found the user who has been affected. This is how you do it:

  • Open QuickBooks Software
  • Go to Company > Create Passwords and Users > Set up Users…
  • Click on “Add User…”
  • Enter the Username and Password, and click Next. Do not use any user credentials that have been damaged previously
  • Give user access and click Finish
  • Go to File > Close Company/Logoff
  • Now, open the company file using the new user credentials

Step 2: Install QuickBooks Desktop

A. When QuickBooks Desktop is opened, QuickBooks Desktop should be suppressed

  1. Need to hold the Ctrl key.
  2. Double-click on the QuickBooks desktop icon
  3. Keep the Ctrl key down until you see the “No Company File” window.

B. When opening a company file, suppress QuickBooks Desktop

  1. Choose your company file from the “No Company File” window
  2. Next, hold down the Alt key on the keyboard and then click Open
  3. When asked, type your username and password. Press the Alt key, then type your credentials. Hold the Alt key down and click OK. Don’t let go of the Alt key if it doesn’t ask for your password and username.
  4. Do not release the Alt key unless you see a blank grey window in your QuickBooks. If your cursor can be positioned on the QuickBooks menu, and it highlights, it indicates that your company file has been completely opened.

Step 3 – Open the sample company file

To identify problems with the file or QuickBooks application for your company, a sample file can be helpful. To open the sample file, follow the steps below.

  • The “No Company Open Window” window
  • Click on the file to open a sample file.

If the sample file does not open, this means that your company file has been corrupted or lost. These steps will assist you in moving your company files.

  • Right-click your desktop to select New > Folder
  • Give your folder a name like QBNEW.
  • Go to the folder in which your company file was saved
  • Right-click on your company file, and select Copy (Ctrl+C).
  • Go back to QBNEW and click on Paste (Ctrl+V)
  • Save the company file to a new folder

QuickBooks Desktop is still susceptible to unrecoverable mistakes, so back up and perform basic troubleshooting.

Step 4: Run reboot.bat

Re-register product files (e.g.. DLL or.OCX), by running the reboot.bat file.

  • Close QuickBooks
  • Right-click Properties
  • Click on the Shortcut tab to open File Location.
  • Depending upon your Windows operating system, there are two options: a reboot.bat and a reboot.txt file.
  • Right-click reboot.bat to choose Run as administrator
  • Click Yes to grant user account permission. This will allow you to scroll through your files.
  • Now, open QuickBooks again

Step 5: Troubleshoot QuickBooks Desktop Application

A. Repair QuickBooks Desktop

  1. Press the Windows+R key to open the Run box.
  2. Enter “Control Panel” in the Run Box, and click OK.
  3. Choose Programs > Features & Programs
  4. Choose QuickBooks from the following lists.
  5. Click on Yes/Uninstall/Change
  6. Click Next
  7. Select Next to choose Repair
  8. Click Repair
  9. It can take some time for QuickBooks Desktop to be fixed.

B. Download and Run QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool

  1. Open QuickBooks Tool Hub
  2. Select the QuickBooks Install Problems tab.
  3. Configuring it may take some time.
  4. Once the configuration has been completed, click Yes and accept the license agreement
  5. To repair your QuickBooks desktop components, click Continue.
  6. After you are done, restart your computer.

C. Uninstall and Reinstall QuickBooks Desktop

Before deleting QuickBooks, ensure you have your product number (and license)

You may need to remove QuickBooks Desktop from your computer and reinstall it.

Step 6 – Download and install the QuickBooks Tool hub

  • Get QB Tool Hub now. To download your QB Tool Hub, press CTRL+J.
  • Under your downloads list click on QuickBooksToolsHub.exe
  • Click Yes to allow the app to make changes
  • To install the program, click Next. Accept the license agreement by clicking Next.
  • Next, click Install (it may take some time).
  • After the installation is complete, click Finish
  • Now, open the QuickBooks Tool Hub (The icon will be on your desktop).

Step 7: Run Quick Fix My Program

  • Use the QuickBooks Hub
  • Click on Quick Fix My Program in the Program Problems tab.
  • It might take some time.
  • After you are done, close QuickBooks Desktop.
